Date: Sunday, February 17, 2008
Time: 3:00 p.m.
Rev. David Walker will deliver the message!

Bruce Paul Gibson was born in Boston, Massachusetts, August 22, 1948 to Harold and Mildred Gibson.  He grew up in Medford, Mass., and had his Christian start in the Shiloh Baptist Church where his Grandfather was a Trustee, Moderator and Deacon. His Mother served as President of the women’s mission, as well as worked with the junior and senior matrons. She also served as a Trustee and an Usher.

The Lord blessed Bro. Gibson by allowing him to grow up in a good Christian family. Bro. Gibson counts as a blessing to be able to learn from a praying Mom, a fair but disciplined Dad and active Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles who were members of our church.

Bro. Gibson came to Espanola, New Mexico in 1984. He attended the United Pentecostal church and became an ordained Minister in 1988.  In 1993 he joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church of Albuquerque.  He is blessed to be working in the following ministries at Mount Olive; Director of Christian Education, Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee Board member, Choir member, Usher board member, Mount Olive’s feeding ministry, Vacation Bible School, the prison ministry as well as assisting in sponsoring the annual Mount Olive Community picnic.

Bro. Gibson says, “Mount Olive has become my spiritual family.  I am blessed to have learned so much from so many wonderful Mount Olive members.  So many have sustained and developed me for my current undertaking as a Deacon at Mount Olive”.

He extends his thanks to all that have loved, shared and cared for me.  He hopes that he fulfills the expectations of a Deacon.

“I trust in the Lord and know that he will direct my path”.
